A collection of youth and mentor writing pieces will be displayed virtually to showcase youth writing and art used for the podcast, No More Silence, which was led by Fearless Writers and Ram Empowerment Project with featured guests from a youth poetry group, Rhythm and Rhyme. University students, high school students, and community members involved in this project will be highlighted as well as the podcast episodes released through WGTE Spring 2025.


Presentation Objectives
  • Present raw, unedited, uncensored writing of youth about adultism, nonviolence, trauma, healing, and social media
  • Raise awareness of the power of art to connect an audience to the lived experience of injustice
About the Presenter
Heather M. Sloane Cleary, PhD

Dr. Heather Sloane Cleary is the coordinator of the Youth Voices Exhibit and is an adult member of Fearless Writers and Ram Empowerment Project, which are youth-led advocacy programs to end youth violence. Dr. Cleary is a faculty member of the social work program at The University of Toledo. Her research investigates the ties between redlining and community resilience and implicit bias and empathy.
